Dr. C.B Koppiker is the Medical Director at Orchids Breast Health Center, Pune, the only stand-alone state of the art facility in India of excellence for breast Health
He has about 30 years of experience as an oncosurgeon. He for the first time brought integrated cancer care to Pune by helping to establish the first state of the Art cancer center in Pune in 1994 which he led and pioneered several treatment protocols for the first time in Maharashtra. He has incorporated all cosmetic breast surgical procedures in practice to the benefit of breast cancer patients and developed proficiency in procedures such as breast reduction, breast augmentation and nipple-areola reconstruction. He has performed more than 2000 breast surgeries till date inclusive of more than 1000 oncoplastic surgeries, 200+ breast reconstructions & 750+ sentinal

Dr. Koppiker is also the founder and managing trustee of Prashanti Cancer Care Mission (PCCM)- a non-profit organization in Pune.
PCCM is active in providing affording medical care, freeships, breast cancer awareness, community screening, patient rehabilitation and counseling to cancer patients in Pune and surroundings. It runs a community based awareness early detection program highly subsidized or free. (www.prashanticancercare.org).
Dr. Koppiker is also the Director and heads the Oncosciences Department at the well known Jahangir Hospital, Pune.
Capacity Building has always been his favorite vertical and is truly a teacher at heart. He has not only pioneered several surgical procedures including Oncoplastic surgeries in the treatment of breast cancer but also made sure he imparts his knowledge. He established the International School of Oncoplastic surgery (ISOS) and has trained over 500 Breast surgeons from India and abroad. In his quest to build a better infrastructure for budding and promising oncoplastic breast surgeons he brought a formal degree program to India. In a collaborative effort with University of East Anglia, U.K. (UEA) in 2017, he started the Mastership program in Breast Oncoplasty. Three batches have since been trained with young physicians from India, Indonesia, Nepal, Maldives, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, etc., gaining hands-on experience in Oncoplastic techniques and is the only Oncoplastic Mastership Training Program in Asia. He has been recently honored with Associate Professorship at the University of East Anglia, U.K. (UEA) and is also the South-East Asia regional convenor for UEA’s award winning Mastership in Breast Oncoplastic program. He is on the board of directors of several national and international societies including the Society of Oncoplastic Surgery (SOS), U.S.A and has been a visiting faculty for the same. Recently, he has also been appointed as the joint Editor in chief of the Journal of Oncoplastic Surgery, U.S.A. which is been established by the SOS, U.S.A.
He firmly believes that Medical Research is the future of Breast Cancer and is the Research Lead at the Translational research Foundation (CTCR) supported By Bajaj Auto and founded under the aegis of Prashanti cancer Care Mission and IISER (Indian Insititute of Science Education and Research) involved in basic research in breast cancer (www.ctcr.in)
Dr.Koppiker’s vision for advanced Breast Cancer education and research has culminated into major international projects like the inception of BreastGlobal and Indian Cancer Genome Atlas (ICGA). BreastGlobal is an effort to bridge the gaps in knowledge by providing a single platform where experts, trainees and industry can have access to a plethora of global learning and training opportunities. Dr. Koppiker has published numerous book chapters, research and clinical papers in national and international journals. For his contribution to fighting Breast Cancer in India, Dr. Koppiker has been widely felicitated by numerous recognitions and awards by his medical peers as well as by various social organizations, like Pune’s most powerful (2018-19), ET Edge Maharashtra Achievers’ Award 2019 to name a few.
