It took place with 200 people from health professionals and public people.
Let’s look at the key phases of this SIS event , partnering with the French Academy
of Surgery and the College of Gynecologists and obstetricians of France.
1 – The traditional « welcome dinner » took place with the SIS board members : a friendly time to those having travelled from China, Brasil, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Puerto Rico.
2 – The SIS board meeting, face to face and Webext connection, took place in the Institut Hospitalo Universitaire de Strasbourg , 3 hours of intense discussions about short and long term actions and challenges for SIS.
3 – Thursday 3rd afternoon. We are welcomed in the Grande Salle de l’Aubette in the center of Strasbourg by the Municipality of Strasbourg .
200 people from health care professionals to hear our SIS speakers session called « why me »?
Prevention and environmental influence were discussed there.
4 – On Friday 4th morning SIS and its partners were invited by the European Parliament.
« Who will be my surgeon ?» was the question of this session where SIS experts from Brazil, China, USA, Greece, Turkey compared how Breast Cancer surgeons are educated and trained, publications being clear on the positive influence of specializing breast cancer surgery on life time.
5 – Friday afternoon was dedicated to the following theme : « Caregiver and Caregiven ».
A lot of emotion when concerned by breast cancer women, caregivers talked as witnesses on their BC story. Being an actor in Health world does not prevent from meeting breast cancer. They insisted of the importance of prevention and being ill,the importance of having physical and intellectual activities. A lesson of courage indeed.
6 – We are now at the end of the conferences and the Academy National of Surgery of France (ANC) wanted to honor people involved in breast health. For SIS, experts from China, Brazil and Turkey were decorated with the medal of the ANC, an extraordinary rarely awarded to foreign countries surgeons.
