Dear colleagues, dear friends,

On behalf of the Senologic International Society, I wish everyone a happy new year, good health and happiness. Over the past year, SIS has been busy continuing its scientific and social activities. I want to share these activities with you briefly and thank our societies and friends who contributed.
SIS working group is created under Prof. Dr.Atilla Soran’s leadership and 4 international clinical studies are initiated in 2024. The first of the SIS-Webinars prepared by Dr.Tolga Özmen was held on March 16, 2024, with the title of “Current Treatment of Early-Stage Breast Cancer,” the second on March 29, 20224 with the title of “Current Treatment of Locally Advanced Breast Cancer,” the third on September 21, 2024, with the title of “ Current Treatment of de Novo Metastatic Breast Cancer,” and the last one on December 21, 2024, with the title of “Artificial International in Breast Cancer”. Our seminars, attended by very valuable scientists, were watched by a very large audience.

SIS supported by participating in the congress titled “The 2024 Chinese Congress on Holistic Integrative Oncology (2024CCHIO) in conjunction with the 4th International Congress of the Asian Oncology Society (AOS2024)” held in Xi’an, China on 15-17 November 2024. “IBUS Masterclass in Multimodality Breast Imaging and Guided Interventions Course” was held on 13-14 September 2024 in Zaventem (Brussels, Belgium) with the support of SIS.
The “30th International Senology Meetings in Strasbourg”, organized by Prof. Dr. Carole Mathelin on 3-4 October 2024, was successfully held at the Aubette, the European Parliament, and the Région Grand Est. At a ceremony held at the European Parliament on October 4, 2024, Dr. Vahit Özmen, Dr. Xishan Ha and Dr. Maurício Magalhães Costa were awarded the Honorary Medal by the French National Academy of Surgery for their contributions to science. I want to thank Dr. Carole for nominating us for this award.

On November 29-30, 2024, the Senologic International Society (SIS) regional congress and the III International Baku Breast Cancer Congress were held in Baku, Azerbaijan, with nearly 400 participants.The European Journal of Breast Health, supported by SIS, reached over 50,000 monthly readers, published 50 scientific articles, and increased its citations and impact factor in 2024.
I invite you to the “22nd SIS World Congress ON BREAST CANCER AND BREAST HEALTHCARE,” which will be held in San Juan (Puerto Rico) from May 8 to 10, 2025. In the meticulously prepared congress program, valuable speakers will present their views on different issues.

As you know, the economic problems in the world also affect our society negatively. The sources of income of the SIS are the dues paid by our members and the congressional revenues. In order for our scientific and social activities to continue regularly, we ask all our member associations to pay their annual membership fees on time and to contribute to our society from congress and course revenues. I wish 2025 to be more successful and full of scientific and social activities.
