SIS in a few words

The SIS was founded in 1976 in Strasbourg (France). Today, the SIS is a unique worldwide federation of more than a hundred learned or scientific societies, associations and groups, located in 5 continents, with a priority mission: to improve breast health by constantly putting the patient in the center of its concerns. It is a society turned towards the future with a particular focus on innovation, transdisciplinarity and contribution of digital technology.

Letter of the President, Professor Schlomo Schneebaum

Dear colleagues, dear friends

The General Assembly of SIS nominated me in November 2021 as President of the Société Internationale de Senologie (SIS), for a period of 2 years.

I am very proud to have been nominated President of SIS. Our previous president, Prof. Mauricio Magalhaes Costa, while facing the difficult COVID19 pandemia, succeeded in keeping a high level of dialogue and cooperation between SIS societies members and SIS individuals.

While the international situation is raising a lot of questions and the COVID19 is still not under full control, my task with SIS is to continue to manage our fight for Breast Health for Patients‘ Care.

I see as my aim to put my energy with the SIS Board and the SIS members, to enlarge SIS presence in the world, to promote and share the innovations, to encourage a new website for knowledge sharing, to encourage partnership, to promote fellowship initiatives and to implement a successful and exciting 21st Worldwide Congress. I will, of course, be happy to listen to suggestions and initiatives from you all and to improve the SIS image and impact.

I am looking forward to meeting all the representatives and members of the regional and local societies.

Best regards,

Professor Schlomo Schneebaum
President Senologic International Society
President Israel Senologic Society

Former Head Breast Health Center and Radio Guided
